INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Authors retain copyright of the contents of their submitted manuscripts, however, articles should not be reproduced without written permission from the Editor-in-Chief of ZANÍN. Ideally, original articles should not have been published elsewhere prior to publication in ZANÍN, however, at this stage we do not wish to apply this very strictly. Nevertheless, all articles must contain novel aspects that will make them worthy of publication. It is the authors' responsibility to obtain copy right holder's permission for reproducing previously published material. Previously published figures, tables or components of any article must be appropriately referenced. Articles are submitted on the understanding that all named authors have agreed to the submission.

Submission constitutes an authorization for publication by KSMA, on a non-exclusive basis. No compensation is offered for published manuscripts. The articles will be archived in electronic format at KSMA database. Authors are fully responsible for the published material and the journal and/or KSMA are not liable for the content of any article published in ZANÍN.

Brief Guidelines for Submitting
  • All papers should be submitted electronically in Word Document or RTF format, using Arial font type.
  • Full contact details of each author should be provided, including e-mails, Department, institution, city and country.
  • Articles must be written clearly in good English. The text must be succinct without unnecessary details or duplications. It is strongly advisable to seek the help of a colleague whose command and knowledge of English would help improve on the clarity, style and presentation of your manuscript.
  • On the cover page, authors should state the type of the article (original, review, letter to the Editor, news item or other) and the field of study (e.g. medicine, chemistry, civil engineering ...etc).
  • Manuscripts must include abstracts (no more than 150 words) outlining contents of the paper and relevant keywords.
  • The rest of the manuscripts should be divided into logical sections. Original research articles should consist of introduction, materials & methods, results, discussion, conclusion, acknowledgment and references.
  • The references should be formated and listed in the order of appearance (as articles in the current issue). Most editorial mistakes occur in the reference section, therefore, extra efforts should be made to present them in a consistent format. Reference citation must include the entire author list, year of publication, full article title, full name of the scientific journal, journal volume and journal page numbers.
  • Images and tables should be formatted and submitted separately. Clear and adequate legends should accompany each image. They should be numbered in the order of appearance in the text.
  • Papers written in Arabic script (Arabic, Persian, Central Kurdish) must be typed using Tahoma font, which is standard in MAC and Microsoft Windows based systems.

Authors should submit articles by e-mail to "", addressed to the Editor-in-Chief who will assign it to a member of the editorial board. In the submission e-mail, authors should indicate the field of the study and suggest two potential reviewers. These expert reviewers or others, at the discretion of the named Editor, will be consulted for their views. The editor will make a decision on the articles suitability for publication in ZANÍN. The editor will have a significant in put in terms of improving the style, presentation and language of the manuscript. Once satisfied, the editor will forward a final version of the manuscript with his/her recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief, who has the final say on the articles publication. Authors who are not satisfied with the editors recommendation or final decision will have the right of appeal and should request reconsideration. In this case, the Editor-in-Chief will seek the assistance of a different editor.
