Dr. Safwat Fadhil Said

Safwat F. Said is a senior researcher at the field of Highway Engineering with experience of research projects concerning mix and pavement design, mechanical properties of asphalt concrete, full-scale test sections and rehabilitation of roads. He is expert advisor for the area of asphalt materials at the VTI (Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute). Qualified experience from development of norms for flexible pavements and examination of draft on testing methods for European (CEN) and Swedish standards. Other interests include work in international organisations in the area of highway engineering. (The World Road Association (PIARC), Technical Committee - Road pavements. The International Union of Testing and Research Laboratories for Materials and Structures (RILEM), Technical Committee ATB. The Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists, USA). Safwat is currently supervising PhD students at the University of Lund - Sweden.
